My name is Patrick Thigpen, I am a drummer out of Gainesville, Georgia. I am a part of a very musical family. Son of Buddy and Susan Thigpen and youngest of seven brothers, I have been a drummer since I was seventeen, playing in many bands such as Salt, Justin Teseniar, Graham Dowdy, and Allen Mills. I am an independent artist and worship drummer. I have had the pleasure of playing for many churches such as First Congregational Holiness Church, First Baptist Church Oakwood, Church 216, Graystone Baptist Church, Gillsville Baptist Church, Corinth Baptist Church, Lakewood Baptist Church, and House of Prayer Church. I am currently a drummer for Lakewood's Real Life Worship Band and their Fusion student bands. I am also a drummer for Corinth's CWM Worship Band and their CSM Student Band. I am also a recording artist and have had the honor of recording a nine song album called Hearts Will Fly with Allen Mills, a former indie rock artist and now worship pastor for Corinth Baptist Church. I have also recorded some demos with Lakewood Baptist Church. I am also a songwriter. I have played in two music videos and have done one drum cover of Needtobreathe's Streets of Gold.
I am a drum teacher and am the drum instructor for the Lakewood Music Institute. I am very passionate about teaching those who are passionate about music, be they old or young, and want to be as good as they can at the art of drumming. I also give private lessons outside of the institute, either at one of my churches or traveling to give them.
I have had the pleasure of personally learning from and observing some great drummers. My greatest influences would be my oldest brother Corinth drummer Robert Thigpen, Shinedown drummer Barry Kerch, Phil Wickham drummer Joel Plotnik, Ben Rector drummer Steve Goold, and personal friend, former Echoing Angels drummer, and now touring drummer for J.J. Weeks band, Jon Poole.
My intention with this website is to extend my services to those want to learn or for those who need a drummer for recording, gigging, or songwriting. Hope to hear from you soon.
